The European Foundation for Clinical Nanomedicine is a non-profit institution aiming at advancing medicine to the benefit of individuals and society through the application of nanoscience. The recognition of the large future impact of nanoscience on medicine and the observed rapid advance of medical applications of nanoscience have been the main reasons for the creation of the Foundation. This year CLINAM organizes its 3rd annual conference and a series of world-experts will be present to speak on various topics.
Paul Borm, CSO of Magnamedics will speak at this conference about clinical use and imaging using magnetic nanoparticles. In addition as an international expert in the toxicology field he will chair the session about nanomaterial toxicology. The conference will be held on May 10-12, 2010 in Basel, Switzerland.

Protein A and protein G are recombinant proteins that bind with high affinity to the Fc portion of several classes and subclasses of immunoglobulin (IgG´s) from a variety of species. Specific antigens are bound in a second step reversible towards the bound IgG. A following washing step and elution by pH shift generates the purified target protein under native conditions. MagSi protein A and G beads can be regenerated and reused several times (up to 10 times), incl large volume scales. The advantage of protein G and A beads, compared to streptavidin beads, is that the antibody does not need to be biotinylated and the binding is reversible. So they are ideal for protein isolation and proteomics applications. Furtheron the superior surface chemistry is blocking unspecific binding of residual proteins and further biomolecules. Therefore your target protein can be purified in a single purification step. Click here to download the newsletter about MagSi-Protein A and G. |

MagnaMedics’CSO Paul Borm was member of the scientific committee of the EuroNanoMedicine meeting in Bled (Slovenia), which took place end of September.
This meeting merged the participants of 3 current large European consortia on this area, being NanoEar, MediTrans and NanoBioPharmaceutics. The meeting brought together more then 250 scientists and producers of nanoproducts in imaging, drug targeting and therapy. Keynote speakers included Chrit Moonen (Bordeaux), Marie-Jose Alonso (Santiago de Compostella), Alex Florence (London) and many other given resumees on issues as medical imaging, vaccine delivery and future perspectives. MagnaMedics presented its current activities in MRI imaging (MagnaFy) and results of our work in drug delivery. |
